ADVICE FOR CADRES
ENGAGED IN SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITY


THE NRF uses Cadre activists to infiltrate political groups, institutions
and services. It is part of our strategy to do this work and, if we are to
have any success in the future it is work that must be
done on an increasing basis. In Issue #5 of The Crusader, we covered basic
infiltration techniques and some of the requirements demanded of individuals
engaged in this work. Here we elaborate on the conduct of individuals who
are already active or are preparing to be active in this field.

ANONYMITY

The basic requirement for successful infiltration is anonymity. Indeed, for
long-term entryism anonymity is vital. Spending a great deal of time, effort
and resources placing individuals within target groups/areas only to have
their cover blown three or four months down the line, is not our idea of a
successful operation.

GATHERING INFORMATION

It is possible in certain cases when the operation is only short-term, i.e.
when we are infiltrating the hard Left for the sole purpose of gathering
information on their activists (names, home addresses,
telephone numbers, contacts, associates, etc.) to use Cadres who have a
political history, but one which is not sufficiently well-known to the
target group for it to become a problem. Indeed, continuing experience shows
that two or three months inside a hard Left group is more than enough time
to gather significant intelligence information on enemy activists. The vast
cross-over that exists between many on the groups on the Left only serves to
make the task easier. In other words, join one Left-wing group and you can
gather information on most of the others too. Their security is a joke;
their confidence makes them negligent, they are easy prey.

SPECIAL TYPE

However, the real task of infiltrating organisations and institutions with
the intention of using them for our own ends must be viewed with longevity.
Such a tactic requires a special type of individual, and
consequently a new method of recruiting. Given the range of targets we want
to attack, it is essential that we operate in a sophisticated manner and the
groundwork for this strategy must be laid now.

FUNDAMENTAL POINT

Without doubt the best way to recruit individuals to any insurgency movement
is by WORD OF MOUTH. This is a fundamental point which has not been lost on
paramilitaries active in Ulster. Members of Active Service Units do not
write off to box addresses and ask to become involved, they are recruited by
word of mouth directly from the community. This is something that we must
strive to do ourselves. In many instances we are already doing it. When
someone initially contacts us from a particular area, it is often the case
that such an individual has a friend or group of friends who are also
willing to become involved. Around every individual there is a circle of
friends and acquaintances, some of whom can be persuaded to take up the
fight. In many cases these people have never written to any Nationalist
group, have never had contact with other Nationalists and are totally
unknown to the political police and the 'anti-Nationalist' coterie. These
people are 'clean' and can be used for any task.

OVERT ACTIVISTS

Individuals recruited in this manner must then strive to preserve their
anonymity. For some this will be difficult. Nationalists like to distinguish
themselves from the crowd and let people know that they are
fighting the System. For street-fighters and overt activists this is not a
problem: indeed, we also need people who want to be visible and are not
afraid of the glare of publicity, but here we are concerning
ourselves with covert subversive activity and it is a simple fact that if
covert' operatives consort with known Nationalists, sooner or later their
cover will be blown.

DIRECTION

In order to provide a brief guide, individuals involved in entryism or any
other covert task will almost always be under the direction of a Cadre who
is also on the Revolutionary Command Council (RCC). The RCC Cadre will
arrange all meetings at which the relevant points can be discussed. These
meetings will always be on a one-to-one basis. The code of conduct requires
that covert operatives must:
(a) disassociate themselves from the Movement. They must never write to any
Nationalist address for information, literature or guidance. They must never
pay any money by cheque or credit card into any Nationalist bank account.
they midst never ring any Nationalist contactline. All these avenues are
constantly monitored by the State to gather information. If individuals
require Nationalist literature, their RCC Cadre will obtain it on his or her
behalf. He will also collect their Movement dues (in cash) and advise on any
difficulties. The RCC Cadre will be the covert operative's only contact with
the Movement.
(b) disassociate themselves from other known Nationalists. No Nationalist
public meetings, no Nationalist gigs, no overt activity (stickering,
postering, leafletting etc.), no street fights with the
Enemy. Any activity that can lead to arrest and prosecution, get you
photographed or bring you to the attention of 'anti-Nationalists' must be
avoided.
(c) refrain from singling themselves out as Nationalists through the way
they dress. Over the years, many active Nationalists seem to have adopted a
distinctive style of dress: flight jackets, boots, etc.
For overt Nationalists this is not a problem, but those involved in other
areas cannot afford to draw attention to themselves in this manner. Our
advice is to dress like any other member of the public:
casual jeans, jackets and sportswear. No Nationalist badges, no t-shirts and
no boots.

GUERILLA WAR

This advice is designed to make you think. it is meant to make life easier
for covert operatives and make it more difficult for the police, the
Zionists and the Reds. We are fighting a political guerilla war and we must
use the correct tactics. At all times act like a Revolutionary. Use your
head: make an effort to blend in: DON'T SINGLE YOURSELF OUT AND DON'T LET
THE ENEMY KNOW WHO YOU ARE. With such a trained elite we can cause more
damage and bring this Movement far more success than years of street fights
and street campaigns. We will have access to positions in
society which have, thus far, been barred from us. As a result, we will be
able to target the Enemy when we want and where we want. We will be able to
do it silently and without fuss. This is a war, let's fight it like we mean
business.
