I have my own web-based forum with many bulletin boards (including ones for News and Forthcoming Events) on the Revolutionary Platform Network Forum. From time to time, I post items of news and details of events, particularly those that I intend to attend, on that forum. Feel free to post your own information about news and events, or get involved in debates on issues of interest to you on that forum.
There are many sources of news on the internet, and I fairly often search for news at Google (click on the News link above the box where you can type in something to search for). You can read articles from some left-wing newspapers as well as the mainstream media there.
For more left-wing sources of news and details of forthcoming events on the internet, I strongly recommend the Scottish Socialist Youth forum at www.ssy.org.uk (particularly if you live in Scotland, obviously). If you are interested in less convetional forms of struggle than mass demonstrations, picketing and meetings (important though such things are) such as non-violent direct action, I recommend the anarchist forum at www.libcom.org or (if you are primarily interested in anti-war events) the directactionagainstwar discussion group.
