Steve Wallis’ musical poem:

An ode to Scott

Inspired by The Drugs Don’t Work The Verve

Written by Steve Wallis, 22/3/2007

Beam me up Scotty!
I don’t think you’re potty
Though you tend to smile all the time
Your mind has mountains to climb
You are really fab
And you are now going to rehab
The drugs don’t work
They just make you worse
But it was good to see your face again
Stay off the Pepsi and Coke
Not just so that you don’t go broke
They contain drugs that mess with your brain
I think they make you happy at the wrong times
I know they don’t give you pain
But you sometimes smile when listening to my serious rhymes
I am starting to get through to you
You are still young and there is much that you can do
Your mum Maureen and dog Cassie will give you much love
So don’t let drugs or alcohol take you to the clouds above
