The General Election

I am not standing to become an MP in the general election that will take place on Thursday the 5th of May, for reasons specified in my Steve Wallis for MP! page.

You can read my manifesto for the general election on-line or download it. For details, click here.

I have written a report on Gordon Brown's Budget, which you can find by clicking here.

As well as producing copies of my manifesto, which I am distributing anyway (sometimes with stickers on to indicate that I did not get nominated), I produced double sided A4 leaflets in the name of the Revolutionary Platform of the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP), which now has a website as well as a discussion group. The text of the front of the leaflet is on its website, and I have put the front page of my manifesto on the back, also encouraging votes for Socialist Party and Respect candidates in the North West of England and West Midlands. I had planned to travel around this area quite a bit, but I have now decided to spend most of my time in Glasgow, to maximise the SSP’s vote, perhaps enabling at least one SSP MP to get elected, as well as promoting the Revolutionary Platform to facilitate greater unity between revolutionary socialists in the SSP.
