Douglas Adams

Douglas Adams wrote a highly influential series of books dubbed the “Hitch-Hikers trilogy, which came eventually to five parts: The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life, the Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish and Mostly Harmless.

I wrote a very long message on Christmas Day 2004 (in an internet café run by Somalis in Rusholme), in which I talked about a massive range of issues including a bit about the Hitch-Hikers trilogy. I therefore thought it suitable to call the message Life, the Universe and Everything, and I later created a discussion group called life-the-universe-and-everything to discuss that message, the Hitch-Hikers trilogy and anything else people want to talk about! You can access that discussion group , on which you can read the Christmas Day message, by clicking here.
