Charities

The great generosity of ordinary British people towards those undergoing great suffering and financial problems around the Indian Ocean from the tsunami showed that they tend to empathise with other ordinary people around the globe, and can be won to positions in opposition to the clampdown on asylum seekers carried out by New Labour urged on by the Tories.

However, they did cause charitable donations to Africa to be reduced – which caused charities to close down their appeals for tsunami donations (including Oxfam before the closure of the official appeal through the Disasters Emergency Committee). However, Comic Relief this year looks as though it will help overcome this problem, and my revolutionary socialist band Galaxia will raise funds for charities, as well as socialist and campaigning organisations. [I have created discussion groups for the politics of Oxfam and Comic Relief.]

I have written an important document, that I am distributing far and wide on the internet as a way of raising interesting question while reaching new layers of people, called Racism and Mind Control in “Comic Relief does Fame Academy”. Fame Academy is a British TV programme aimed at discovering new singing talent, usually from unknowns but the Comic Relief version had celebrities in it (some better known than others). I would like one of the participants, Konnie Huq from the children’s TV programme Blue Peter, to be in Galaxia.
